ABOUT ME

A brief introduction

I am Ranjeet Pratap Ghatge. I was born in March 1953 in Pune. Born and brought up in Pune, I am a hardcore Puneite.

I finished my schooling from two schools, Bhave School Peru Gate and New English School - in Marathi medium. Going forward, I attended my pre degree science and First year science from S.P. College -Tilak Road. Further, I joined College Of Engineering Pune (C.O.E.P) and graduated in faculty of Electrical Engineering. I Worked in a Swedish Multinational called "Sandvik Asia Ltd." throughout my career from 1976 to 2013 for good 37 years! I retired as Vice President (Engineering and Projects).

My father was a fine artist and a good photographer and my mother was a home-maker.I married Niti Bartake, an Army Officer's daughter in 1979. We are parents to Kshitija and Parth, in-laws to Santosh and Mayuri and proud grandparents to Rudra and Ranveer.

I stayed in Sadashiv Peth for 27 years, then in Sahakar Nagar for about 26 years and I’m now staying in Kothrud near Mahatma Society for the last 14 years.

My interests include reading about astrology, history, medicine and listening to music, (old Hindi, English instrumentals). I have tinkered with photography and a bit of hiking within Maharashtra. I have travelled mostly to Europe and Asia for business and leisure.

I like to interact with people of all ages, more of talking in person. Now I am peacefully retired and more of a family man.
